Yes. You'll find that the majority of the barge has no interest in critically examining what goes on around it. They just accept whatever the Admiral says at any particular moment.
The date of February 14th correlates with the dates of two previous ports and the Barge's celebration of Christmas and Halloween according to Western custom.
No, this isn't making assumptions based on faith. This is making a calculation based upon two correlating dates recognized by the Barge's Admiral that I was present for and previous incidents before my arrival. While everyone's arrival times differ he's set up a seasonal standard to keep everyone on the same page, reinforced by artificially induced environmental changes.
The date was obviously supposed to be February 14th.
The ship has been navigated through an environmentally influenced path. Paths are prone to alteration. This is not the same as being reliable for use as a reference guide.
The ship is in constant motion through environmentally influenced paths, but within the ship even with environmental influence, the date that is recognized is an Earth standard and he always returns to that standard setting. It's not congruent with my 19 month calendar, but for the sake of continuity that has been what's chosen to dictate ship time.
So unless he throws another Christmas port at us and riddles the ship full of parasitic dingleberries again I'm sticking to pre-existing temporal settings.

Nor can it necessarily be assumed as accurate.
